Position

The Technical Consultant is based in the US and reports directly to the Chief Customer Officer. Predominantly an engineering role in which technical skills and knowledge are constantly stretched, the Technical Consultant solves problems and innovates internally and externally. Along with having deep and diverse technical ability, providing technical support, performing trouble-shooting functions, and resolving technical issues. Technical Consultants will provide consultancy services alongside the Professional Services part of the organization and must be highly knowledgeable about the Company’s products and services with excellent communication skills so that they can assist users, colleagues, customers, and clients.


They will create reference material for technical documentation and training of both staff and customers. As a cellular specialist, the Technical Consultant will apply knowledge of Mobile Operator systems, cellular modems, SIM technologies, and certification requirements to develop new processes to benefit the Company.


Role Responsibilities


  • Testing products and applications;
  • Resolving customer or client issues;
  • Assisting with the planning, design, research and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems;
  • Maintaining current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommending modifications as necessary;
  • Working with the hardware team to define IoT devices;
  • Working with the network team to architect IP routing;
  • On-site and remote installation, configuration and support of enterprise software;
  • Recommending appropriate bespoke solutions where required;
  • Finding the root cause of complex technical problems and issues;
  • Final escalation point for the service desk team;
  • Training clients on installation and ongoing support of advanced software products;
  • Ensuring the client’s project is a technical and commercial success;
  • Running technical workshops and architecting bespoke solutions;
  • Being a knowledgeable expert on our products and associated technologies;

Requirements

Requirements:


  • Solid experience in an engineering role
  • Engineering or technical degree
  • Commercial awareness and comfortable with the dynamics of a small, fast-growing business;
  • Excellent communication skills in all disciplines i.e. written, oral, email & presentation;
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage time without supervision;
  • Capable of hands-on problem-solving;
  • An understanding of the tools used to monitor and manage services;
  • Ability to proactively generate ideas and solutions;
  • Experience in a client-facing role.

  • Cellular communications experience
  • IoT device, embedded device knowledge
  • Certification process, especially Verizon, knowledge or experience
