Position

Overall Purpose of the Position:  

The Sales Account Manager works within the Agent Sales Department. The manager will be responsible for maintaining and building a portfolio of sales agents within their specified region/territory and servicing those agents with effective strategic marketing ideas, with outstanding customer service, and by implementing sales strategies in order to increase the sale of Big Bus tour tickets.

Key Areas of Accountability and Responsibility

Revenue & Passengers

  • Deliver agent sales monthly and yearly sales budgets by meeting revenue and passenger goals.
  • Maintain sales goals from existing agent list with personalized, relationship-building sales approach
  • Engage new/potential sales agents and expand agent portfolio
  • Drive business development within assigned region/markets - monitor and track opportunities
  • Analyse daily and weekly sales performance and put correction plans in place as needed.
  • Use consultative sales approach to evaluate agents’ goals and propose customized solutions.
  • Implement strategies to achieve growth objectives of the company.

Reporting

  • Report sales performance as frequently as needed.
  • Report competitor activity and advice on changes as needed to compete.

Prospecting/ Negotiating

  • Represent Big Bus Tours at industry events during and after normal business hours.
  • Gain in-depth, practical knowledge of our marketing, services, pricing, and competitive edge.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise and knowledge of products and services.

Account Management

  • Monitor and identify growth potential and other opportunities with agents.
  • Drive a “pursuit of excellence” culture & motivate agents in order to exceed goals and maximize sales execution
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key agents.
  • Customer service

Budgetary Responsibility

Work with General Manager and Off-Street Sales Manager on sales budget to create growth year over year.

Requirements

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the travel/hospitality industry.
  • 2 years’ experience + in the sightseeing/tour or hospitality industry is desired.

Skills

  • Management.

  • Ability to analyse data to find insights/trends.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Management of a large diverse agent network, managing multiple customers.
  • Proven team management experience & coaching.
  • Training delivery.
  • BA/BS Degree desired but not required.

  • $40,000 -$50,000 /year based on qualifications
