We are looking to recruit a temporary Subtitle Technical Quality Control Operative (QC) for a period of up to 3 months to work within our subtitling and dubbing production team that provides subtitling, captioning and dubbing services for our clients which include major Hollywood studios and global broadcasters.

Due to a new project with a major client, we are looking to add new members to our Subtitle team in Sheffield.

Position

Technical QC is the very important final stage in a project before it is delivered to the client. The primary focus of the Technical QC operator is to uphold excellent quality throughout all work and ensure that only content meeting the required standards is delivered. Steps taken to achieve this include tracking, download and conversion of subtitles as well as testing and enforcement of the Quality Control standards using ZOO’s proprietary subtitling system. The Technical QC operator interacts with a number of client sites to collect, update, deliver materials & create new entries for assets within archiving systems.

Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintaining client sites ensuring all data is present and accurate
  • Locating and retrieving assets from various archiving systems
  • Updating, uploading & creating new entries & assets within archiving systems
  • Performing Quality Control checks on client materials and the upholding of standards

Requirements

Requirements

The position requires attention to detail, following strict guidelines, check lists and instructions, detail oriented and have ability to comprehend complex technical topics.

Any prior audio/video, quality control experience or exposure to working with multiple languages would be highly desirable. An understanding of video compression and the various codecs used by broadcasters and VOD platforms would be advantageous, but not essential

Essential:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks under pressure
  • Proactive, flexible and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to work independently and as a team player
  • Analytical and structured problem-solving abilities

Desirable:

  • Prior QC experience
  • Prior experience with audio and video
