We have an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning Sheffield based research and development team as QA Manager.
Position
We are looking for a hands-on QA Manager to work within our challenging but exciting R&D team. The role is based in our Sheffield office and is a full-time, permanent position. The role has line management responsibility for a QA Team of 5, with the potential for this to increase.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of QA Engineers working across multiple projects with competing schedules.
- Work closely with the development team to define and deliver the appropriate QA strategy for the product
- Working with the VP of Software Engineering to define the overarching test strategy and test environments required for all products
- Identify and resolve gaps in testing strategy, capability and execution.
- Task assignment, team coordination, monitoring the team’s progress and reporting to Senior management on coverage progress throughout the testing cycle
- Ownership of the quality assurance strategy
- Working with project and product management to define project resource plans for all products
- Working with senior managers to define the product roadmap
- Identify new treads within testing, deploying appropriate technologies and keeping the team at the forefront of Quality Assurance.
- Being hands on, where needed to help out the testing effort on all products to help us deliver on-time, at the right quality.
Requirements
Essential Skills and attributes:
- Exceptional experience and proven ability in the leadership of Software Testing/Quality assurance teams at a commercial level.
- Ability to lead from the front and have a hands-on approach
- Excellent planning and work prioritisation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills including facilitation, negotiation, collaboration and influencing
- Ability to maintain and develop constructive & effective working relationships across the business
- Experience of working in a fast-paced agile development environment
- Strong desire for quality and high attention to detail
- Experience working with senior managers to improve processes across the team
- Experience of manual testing in an Agile environment
- Experience with bug tracking and test management systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A high level of initiative with ability to self-manage
- An ability to change pace very quickly & and multi-task
