ABOUT THE ROLE

Salary: $23-24ph

Location: El Segundo/hybrid remote working

Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 11:00am-8:00pm

Due to continued expansion, ZOO Digital are currently seeking an English Editor to join our Subtitling department based in El Segundo, CA. The Subtitling team work with major clients on numerous ongoing projects, working within agreed time frames and funding parameters.

As English Editor, you will need to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, syntax, and individual clients’ captioning style. You will have training on our in-house cloud-based system. Working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment, day to day responsibilities will include;

• Managing tight deadlines, scheduling, and integrating technology effectively
• Communicating with ZOO project coordinators, subtitle operators and a global network of vendors and contractors.
• Shifting priorities as required on a daily basis to accommodate the changing needs of our clients, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail
• Demonstrating strong writing and editing skills preferred.

All on site ZOO employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and must provide CDC verification of their vaccination status as part of the onboarding process before starting.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The English Editor must have a background in English, ideally a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or a related field. We are ideally looking for applicants with previous subtitling and editing experience, but will also consider equivalent experience in a similar field.

We are also keen to hear from applicants with the following skills/experience;

• Fast and accurate typing skills – minimum 60wpm
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office
• Familiarity in using search engines to research people, places, and unfamiliar terms
• Comfortable adapting to new software
