Position

We are looking to recruit a Business Analyst be seconded to work in the office/ remotely for a major studio within their subtitling, captioning and dubbing team.

The BA will engage with Broadcast Technology and Operations teams in Europe, Asia and Latin America across International TV Networks Group to: build deep business knowledge; identify opportunities for process, workflow and system improvement based on a defined target state; capture and document requirements, processes and workflows.

In addition to deep business knowledge, the BA will build deep system knowledge in order to effectively contribute to the definition of new solutions. The BA will collaborate with other members of the wider Technology and Operations Teams in different regions, liaising on business requirements. They will also ensure that solutions delivered by the teams meet the customer’s stated needs as well as the overall Company Strategy. As an acknowledged expert, the BA may occasionally be required to provide UAT, QA and training services to the stakeholders or other IT team members.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Engaging with customers and other teams in order to gain a deep understanding of their workflows and business practises
  • Capturing requirements; documentation
  • Ensuring that requirements (be they ‘pure’ business requirements, process improvement or re-
  • engineering, or software design) are always highly accurate, appropriately detailed and without ambiguity
  • Actively seeking to understand the Company’s strategies and possibly apply their expertise to suggest better solutions to support defined objectives
  • Proactively suggesting change in process and workflow in order to improve efficiencies
  • Collaborating with the development teams to proactively suggest software changes in order to better support the overall processes and workflow
  • Re-engineering processes, where required, through working with other Technical and Operations Teams
  • Working with Lead Engineers to ensure that all BA processes/procedures are reviewed,
  • improved upon, updated, and implemented as required
  • Providing a hands-on service during the implantation of projects to ensure the smooth running of the relevant work streams
  • Undertaking analysis and co-ordination for implementation and ensuring delivery
  • Providing support with business change management: modelling, communicating change, working with all teams during the change, being supportive of the customer and championing the change
  • Providing training services to the customer (or other team members).
  • Communicating progress on assigned tasks/projects in a clear manner
  • Assisting in the collection and consolidation of required information and data
  • Ensuring that data in reporting and other documents is accurate
  • Drafting notes on, updating and following up any meeting actions to completion

Requirements

Skills Required

  • Thorough understanding of data hierarchies in Broadcast Management Systems
  • Knowledge of data transactions via interfaces between Broadcast Management Systems and Media Asset Management Systems
  • Understanding of data-driven workflows in the Broadcast area and the relationship with the Content Supply Chain to enable delivery
  • Great eye for detail
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to maximize operational efficiency
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Exemplary communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to anticipate user behaviour or risks to systems and processes
  • Understanding of waterfall and agile project management concepts
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of team
  • Technically able with a good understanding of web-based applications
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint

Experience

  • Experience in TV Distribution/Post Production required
  • Experience of File based and High Definition technology, New Media and electronic file delivery
  • Experience of Mastering QC analysis and corrective recommendations an advantage
  • Excellent project management skills and experience essential
  • High level of computer literacy essential
  • Good knowledge of SAP a great advantage
  • Cognos reporting skills an advantage
