Position

ABOUT THE ROLE

Salary: £31,000 - £35,000 DOE

Location: Sheffield/Hybrid


Due to continued expansion, ZOO Digital is currently seeking an Artwork Manager to join our busy Artwork team, overseeing the art and localization production department in order to create and/or localize graphical elements. With departments in Sheffield and LA, ZOO’s Artwork team is centred in a fast-paced production environment, so you must be an effective multi-tasker, able to take initiative and communicate effectively. You’ll collaborate with other members of the Artwork team, coming up with creative, innovative solutions – at ZOO, your only limit is your own creativity!

The Artwork Manager will supervise ZOO’s Art & Localisation production artists, defining workloads, training, and assigning work to the team. In addition, the successful candidate will have a strong Artwork background, focusing on the creation, conversion and localization of both video and still materials for a range of clients worldwide. You will collaborate with Project Managers to meet client deadlines, attending meetings to report on status updates and any factors that can affect our ability to produce high quality work within expected deadlines.

Day to day responsibilities will include;

  • Conducting training and ensuring that all department procedures are up to date, documented, and being followed.
  • Performing performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Collaborating with Vice President of Technical Operations regarding resources needed to successfully run the department.
  • Displaying mastery of software (Created by ZOO or 3rd parties) and workflows used in the department. Communicating technical and workflow issues with management in order to improve efficiency within the department.
  • Understanding graphical creation and localization workflows, which may include various types of still and video creation/localization workflows.
  • Creating and localizing content as needed.
  • Internal marketing design as needed.
  • Assisting in other creative tasks which relate to other departments within the company as requested.

Requirements

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for creative and experienced people managers, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. The Artwork Manager must have previous experience working in a production environment for design or localization, as well as demonstrable managerial experience ideally gained within a creative environment. A passion for creativity is essential, as well as the ability to meet creative deadlines.

As well as 2 years proven work experience as an Art Manager, Production Artist or Graphic Designer, we are looking for applicants with the following skills and experience;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills including ability to manage time and prioritize effectively.
  • Quality driven approach with the ability to follow strict briefs, guidelines, QC checklists and instructions.
  • Experience using graphic design, video and image editing software’s (Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects & Premiere Pro etc).
  • Existing typography skills and experience in creating and editing custom fonts in Adobe Illustrator
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a production environment for design, localization, and/or pre-press is required.
  • A proficiency in Adobe Created Suite is required.
  • A working knowledge of scripting languages (i.e. JavaScript), markup languages (i.e. HTML, XML), and basic web design is a plus.
  • Qualification in Graphic Design or experience of print/pre-press environment, digital asset localization, or design is a plus but not essential given sufficient experience and portfolio.
