The Alan Turing Institute is the UK’s national institute for data science and artificial intelligence. The Institute is named in honour of the scientist Alan Turing and its mission is to make great leaps in data science and artificial intelligence research in order to change the world for the better.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As we enter the next phase of our exciting journey, The Alan Turing Institute is seeking four additional trustees to join its Board, as non-executive directors. You will share our vision for the UK to become one of the best places in the world to undertake research in data science and AI and for that research to be translated into real-word applications, for the public good. We are committed to building a diverse community and would like our board to reflect this. We therefore welcome applications from the broadest spectrum of backgrounds.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking skills in our new trustees that complement the existing members of the Board and we are particularly interested in applications from individuals that can demonstrate significant experience in one or more of the following areas:
The Institute acts as a convener of Government, academia, industry, public and the third sector so an understanding of and an ability to connect the Institute with any of the following would be highly desirable:
You need to share our values and be prepared to commit the time and energy needed to ensure the success of The Alan Turing Institute as the UK’s national centre for data science and AI.
The Board normally meet 6 times a year. The role is a voluntary one but reasonable expenses to attend Board meetings are reimbursed.
