Torbay Pharmaceuticals are looking for driven and meticulous individuals to join the team as a Trainee Production Line Technician. You will preferably have previous cleanroom or manufacturing experience, which could include some part of mechanical understanding of machinery.


About the Role

A great opportunity for anyone looking to kick-start their Pharmaceuticals career, the Trainee Production Line Technician is a development role that will begin as a trainee, and then progress to Cleanroom Production Line Technician once all competencies have been achieved. The role supports the production team in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, within a controlled environment.


Hours – 37.5 on a rotational shift pattern


Please note: As part of the production team you will be working within a controlled/graded cleanroom environment whilst wearing specialist cleanroom gowning to minimise contamination. Responsibilities


The role will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Work both individually and as part of the team to perform tasks within various sections of the production department e.g. chemical preparation, formation, and automatic filling.
  • To participate in 5S and sustain the production areas to this standard.
  • Record KPI data and participate in KPI meetings.
  • Set up and operate complex equipment as set out in the appropriate guidelines.
  • Performing daily and monthly cleaning activities as set out in the appropriate guidelines.
  • To accurately manage and input data into relevant documentation.
  • Frequent movement of items weighing up to 15kg without the use of mechanical aid in accordance with H&S regulations. Requires frequent movement of loaded pallets and product trolleys.
  • Occasional handling of hazardous chemicals and materials requiring the use of personal protective equipment.

Person Specification


Essential

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and a strong desire to learn.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to understand/perform basic numerical calculations.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and able to flex to changes in workload or priorities.

Desirable

  • Basic IT training
  • NVQ3 or equivalent in equivalent in science-based discipline
  • Basic understanding of good manufacturing practice
