Due to continued growth, Torbay Pharma are currently recruiting for a Packaging Team Leader to join our growing team based in Paignton. This is a key role for the business, leading a small team in the processing, inspecting, labelling, packing and storing of life saving pharmaceuticals.

This is a full time permanent role on a rotational shift pattern running Monday to Friday.

About the Role

Reporting into the Packaging Supervisor, the Packaging Team Leader plays a key role in ensuring that our products are being packaged correctly and to the right timescales. You will work closely with your team to create a positive team environment encouraging collaboration and teamwork.

What you can expect in a Packaging Team Leader role at TP:

• Supervise Packaging team members and ensuring they fully understand the full breadth of their role.
• Ensuring your team understand and act on written instructions via batch records and SOPs and ensuring they complete all documentation in a clear, precise, and legible manner
• Quality checks on product and equipment, reporting any potential issues or defects.
• Actively participate in internal and external audits, to act as relevant ‘expert’ during external audits.
• To take an active lead in ensuring all H&S requirements are enforced, complete reports and statements where necessary.
• Communicate effectively with packaging team members, senior staff, other departments and regulatory auditors.
• To lead and participate in 5S and sustain the packaging areas to this standard, to lead and participate in KPI meetings.
• Attend all relevant internal and Packaging team meetings as requested, including leading daily production meetings when necessary.

What are we looking for:

• Previous experience within a packaging or manufacturing environment
• Moving and Manual Handling knowledge
• Able to show self-motivation and use initiative
• Experience of writing and working with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Good time management & organisation skills
• Good general education to 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths, Science or equivalent.
• High level of H&S understanding in relation to manufacturing hazards
