Torbay Pharma are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Head Office based in Paignton. This is a varied role in which the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that production processes and equipment run reliably and effectively.


This is a great opportunity for someone with a mechanical mindset who enjoys working as part of a team and solving problems. Previous experience within a manufacturing environment would be ideal but other backgrounds will also be considered as training will be provided.


Hours – Monday to Friday on a rotational shift pattern between the hours of 6am and 10pm.


About the Role

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will complete maintenance, inspection, in-depth fault finding and repair of specialist complex manufacturing machinery, control systems, electro-mechanical equipment, building services and plant.


You will receive training to support the wider responsibilities of the Engineering Team including the following site-critical systems: Water for Injection (WFI), steam production and distribution systems, sterilisation equipment and Air Handling Units (AHU). Training will also include the complete range of complex electro-mechanical, PC-controlled pharmaceutical manufacturing machines and supporting equipment.


What you can expect in a Maintenance Engineer role at TP:


· Organise and perform planned and reactive maintenance and complete maintenance records (manually and electronically).

· Follow Work Instructions (WI) and complete maintenance forms.

· Work collaboratively with all personnel within the Team.

· Maintain clear and timely communication with all departments.

· Assist operators to develop fault recognition and diagnosis.

· Liaise with contractors, equipment manufacturers and service providers.

· Monitor building management and process control systems.

· Take part in a 24/7/365 on-call rota, during non-production periods as part of a pattern with other Team members.

· Work flexibly, providing engineering cover during extended days, evenings and at weekends.

· Adhere to quality and continuing Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) policies, rules, and guidelines.

· Adopt safe working practices and adhere to Health and Safety (H&S) regulations.

Requirements

What are we looking for:


· NVQ Level 3 or equivalent work experience in engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, or operations.

· C&G certification in one of the following systems: Boilers, Steam Generators, Decontamination, Heating & Ventilation, Medical Gases, Mechanical Pressure Systems and Electrical systems (High and Low Voltage).

· Able to work in uncomfortable areas wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods.

· Able to analyse and resolve problems.

· Preparedness to undertake specialist training.

· Effective communicator and able to work as part of a team

· Computer literate (standard MS Office).
