Position

Resource Manager


This is not a recruitment position! We are looking for an experienced Resourcing Manager to be responsible for providing an excellent support team service through the efficient and consistent resourcing of staff and equipment to our Terrestrial Ecology department and facilities/office oversight.


Ideally this person will be based in Guildford with the small team they will be managing, although not essential if the right individual can be present in the office regularly.


The Resource Manager will be:


  • Responsible for allocating of staff (permanent and seasonal) to projects in the most efficient and consistent manner possible whilst providing the fastest turn around possible, maximising staff utilisation at all times.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of field equipment, company vehicles and storage facilities across all our offices.
  • Support in overseeing the maintenance and operations within our office environments ensuring they are comfortable, safe and fit for purpose. Help Thomson deliver a workplace that we are proud of and is aligned with our values/growth plans.

Some of the further responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Work closely with Line Managers and Project Managers to resource effectively and aligned with HSQE best practice and whenever possible, in conjunction with an individual’s career progressions
  • Close partnership with the commercial and technical teams to ensure a stable resource pool that is aligned with our pipeline of work
  • Effective team management and development of resourcing and facilities team members as well as temporary/casual field surveyors
  • To work with and support all teams and management on how to improve delivery of our services to clients and strive towards better forward planning of resources (people and equipment)
  • To set, manage and report on the Resourcing team budget
  • To manage and maintain the company’s vehicles, equipment and stores as well as onsite libraries


Requirements

To be considered you will either be an experienced Resource Manager that has had similar responsibilities to those mentioned above or alternatively you will be an experienced Ecologist that’s looking for a different type of role.
