Position

We have an opportunity for a versatile Arborist to join our expanding Arb Contracting team on a full-time basis in Guildford. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, hard-working, and practical individual that likes a varied role and enjoys being involved in undertaking tree & vegetation management, wildlife mitigation, habitat creation, and landscaping projects.

We are an ecological contractor, providing solutions to compensate for loss of habitat caused by development and building works. We design, create and enhance habitats for wildlife for a wide range of clients across sectors such as Rail, Infrastructure, Local Authority and NGOs.

The type of work that our Habitats team undertake can include but not limited to: wildlife mitigation, newt and reptile fencing to facilitate trapping and translocation prior to construction, other fencing including stock, water vole, badger and otter fencing, badger sett exclusion and artificial sett construction, brush cutting, tree felling and general vegetation management, soft landscaping including planting trees, shrubs, and grass seeding, invasive species mitigation including Japanese Knotweed and Himalayan Balsam management.

Due to the varied nature of the role, the ideal candidate should be experienced in all aspects of arboricultural works and vegetation management.

Requirements

Successful candidates must have

  • A full UK driving licence.
  • CS30/31 Certification
  • NPTC Chipper
  • Familiarity with construction health & safety rules and procedures
  • CSCS Card – or willingness to get one
  • A willingness to work away from home on occasion.
  • Occasional weekend overtime

Ideally, the successful candidate will also have the following tickets or experience (not essential)

  • EFAW+F
  • CS/38/39/40/41 Certification.
  • NPTC Hedgecutter
  • Safety Critical Medical
  • PA1/PA6 herbicide spraying
  • IPAF
  • CPCS excavator
  • PTS
  • COSS
  • NPTC Brushcutter
