Willen Lake is Milton Keynes’ most popular park with activities on and off the water for the whole family. Whether that’s scaling new heights at Treetop Extreme, cooling down at Splash ‘n’ Play or learning a new skill out on the water, there’s something for everyone. Plus, with 180 acres of beautiful lakeside park to enjoy, many of our visitors choose to spend the whole day with us.


Willen Lake is managed by The Parks Trust, an independent charity, that cares for over 6,000 acres of parkland and green space in Milton Keynes. Our aim is to provide beautiful, diverse and sustainable parks, lakes, woods and landscapes that will be loved by the people of Milton Keynes, forever.

Position

Salary: From £11.70 per hour (Hourly rates reviewed annually in April)


Hours: Zero hour, up to 31st October 2024


We are looking for Watersports Instructors to join our team. Depending on your qualifications, you will deliver a range of disciplines, including Sailing, Paddleboarding, Kayaking, Canoeing and Windsurfing, to a variety of ages and abilities.


As part of this role you will ensure all our visitors have a safe and memorable experience out on the water by delivering high quality sessions in line with both internal procedures and national governing body syllabuses.


The role will require working shifts across a 7-day operation, typically between the hours of 8am and 8pm. Working a minimum of one in two weekends, as well as some bank holidays should be expected. Being able to commit to the same shifts each week would be advantageous (e.g. every Saturday morning or every Wednesday evening).

Requirements

We are looking for engaging individuals with at least one of the following qualifications:


  • RYA Dinghy Instructor
  • RYA Windsurfing Instructor
  • RYA Powerboat Instructor
  • BC/UKCC Level 1 Coach

Holding an RYA Powerboat Level 2 and/or first aid qualification would be advantageous.


Successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
