Project/Team Overview

SYSTEMIQ is providing strategic and advisory support to Badan Restorasi Gambut (“BRG”) in relation to the peatland restoration management in Indonesia. The main objective of this project is to support the Government of Indonesia to coordinate and facilitate restoration of degraded peatlands and in the longer term to develop a strategic peatland restoration and management framework for supporting the sustainable development in Indonesia. This project is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Project Developer to join the BRG Incubator. The BRG incubator was established to identify, finance and support new business models in peatland.

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Developer, you will work within to:

• Identify and assess projects and business models which overcome the trade-off between community livelihood and sustainable peat management
• Develop strong relationships with project partners, including government representatives, private companies and other institutions
• Work with partners to design project proposals and help them to pass through our approval processes for support
• Provide strategic advice to ensure partners achieve their goals
• Support these partners in monitoring, evaluating and communicating their business model, vision and impact

Skills & Experience:

SYSTEMIQ is looking for individuals with a strong record of excellence and achievement. With advanced problem-solving, analytical and relationship skills, you will be experienced working on consulting projects to deliver breakthrough insights, action and results. Ideally your background includes working at a leading management consultancy or in a strategy role in industry, public sector or civil society. You have proven that in different contexts and are keen to work in a young, entrepreneurial company where you can get involved in a variety of work, shape the business and make maximum impact. You are passionate about SYSTEMIQ's mission and approach to system change. Your background may include working within teams at a top management consultancy, ideally coupled with experience in industry, the public sector or civil society. Specifically, you have:

• 1-4 or more years advisory / consulting / project experience in a high calibre and international environment, ideally working with industry, energy, manufacturing agricultural clients or public sector.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Must work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Relationship management skills on a senior level.
• Reliable and collaborative team player.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to identify opportunities and new initiatives and make them into reality.
• Comfortable with a degree of national travel. This will vary depending on project but could be up to 20-30% to rural areas in Indonesia.
• Masters or equivalent degree. Business/Chemistry/Engineering and other sciences are especially welcome.
• Evidenced passion for the sustainability / environment / social enterprise space.
• Must align with SYSTEMIQ values (creativity, challenge, collaborate, change and care) and be able to demonstrate how they have lived these values in a professional setting.
