Position

About BRG                                                                                                                                                                                                            

SYSTEMIQ is providing strategic and advisory support to Badan Restorasi Gambut (“BRG”) in relation to the peatland restoration management in Indonesia. The main objective of this project is to support the Government of Indonesia to coordinate and facilitate restoration of degraded peatlands and in the longer term to develop a strategic peatland restoration and management framework for supporting the sustainable development in Indonesia. This project is based in Jakarta, Indonesia and the Peatland Team will consist of around 6 to 10 people.

Overview

Provides financial and economic analysis on sustainable financing, particularly in the Land Use sector. Applicants should be comfortable in working with economic theories; financial concepts and instruments; and have a degree of experience in data-driven modelling and/or financial valuation. We work closely with public and private sector thus any experience in stakeholder management in these sectors is greatly appreciated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate approach and analytical methodologies
  • Conduct data gathering and validation through various means and sources, using logical proxy whenever needed
  • Conduct data organising, processing, and analysis according to the proper framework, including but not limited to financial projections, sensitivity analysis, project modelling, and market valuation
  • Communicate analysis results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage stakeholders engagement and co-creation

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Alignment with SYSTEMIQ values (creativity, challenge, collaborate, change and care) and be able to demonstrate how they have lived these values in a professional setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience working in a data-driven environment with preference on the finance sector.
  • Ideally a bachelor’s degree related to engineering, natural sciences, business management, finance, or economics.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative.
  • Relationship and stakeholder management skills in various public and private sector contexts.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following issues is a plus: impact investing, climate change, natural resource management, forestry, rural development, and agriculture.
  • Confidence in working with assertive, analytical, fast-paced colleagues, and ability to work as part of an international team.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia and English; Native Bahasa Indonesia speaker preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel in particular.
