SYSTEMIQ is an organisation driving system change in clean energy, circular material solutions and sustainable land use. By addressing failures in these areas, SYSTEMIQ aims to unlock economic opportunities that benefit business, society and the environment.
We connect the right people, ideas, technologies, and capital to transform economic systems. We do this through five activities:
- Convene and support coalitions of leaders to shape policies and business strategies that will rapidly transform economic activity
- Work with companies that want to be pioneers and drivers of change towards more sustainable systems
- Co-create and incubate the market solutions most likely to build regenerative economic systems
- Invest our own venture capital and expertise in opportunities with the biggest potential to drive rapid system change
- Direct larger pools of capital into regenerative economic systems, so they scale and multiply.
SYSTEMIQ is an equal opportunities employer. SYSTEMIQ’s recruitment and selection policy ensures the best possible skill mix of colleagues and the highest quality candidates are appointed using objective job-related criteria.
In order to deliver in these areas, we recruit and develop distinctive and varied individuals who strive to achieve our mission, challenge the status quo and act as change leaders. We are currently recruiting a staff to fit as part of the Analytics team

PROJECT OVERVIEW
SYSTEMIQ is providing strategic and advisory support to Badan Restorasi Gambut (“BRG”) in relation to the peatland restoration management in Indonesia. The main objective of this project is to support the Government of Indonesia to coordinate and facilitate restoration of degraded peatlands and in the longer term to develop a strategic peatland restoration and management framework supporting the sustainable development in Indonesia. This project is based in Jakarta, Indonesia and the Peatland Team will consist of around 6 to 10 people.
Key Responsibilities (subject to change and evolution in line with business needs):
- Provide strategic advice on ways to strengthen and refine BRG’s delivery of its priority activities. This includes working with BRG colleagues to operationalize the solutions identified by the BRG leadership team to improve BRG’s effectiveness.
- Provide targeted inputs for two BRG operational priorities;
- A. Review the sustainability of the rice without burning demonstration pilot project, looking at the social, economic and environmental profile of the activities. This work will include an ongoing evaluative learning process to help capture the lessons learnt from the pilot.
- B. Work with key partners including BRG’s Desa Peduli Gambut (DPG) programme and Kemitraan to support the economic components of the rural business zones initiative. This will include providing analysis and support to connect village businesses to market.
- Support BRG and its partners (e.g. WRI) to look at how to ensure that the information captured in the PRIMS platform is used to help inform decision making within the organization and beyond.
- Oversee analytical work to identify both the land areas and restoration approaches that BRG should prioritise over the next two years. This will require the development of a framework for understanding the stages of restoration and map this against the status of land (in terms of licence, type and conditions).
