Position

An exciting opportunity became available for an experienced Project Surveyor to support our Western Hemisphere operations team, based in our US regional hub in Houston.


The ideal candidate will have prior experience in offshore survey in the area of construction support. The Project Surveyor will provide expertise and assistance in the delivery of projects from a technical, operational, cost management and safety standpoint to support the successful completion of offshore projects.

Responsibilities


  • Support assigned project through its entire lifecycle, from award and acceptance of project material at the bid stage to planning, execution, completion and close-out.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for innovation and autonomy in offshore survey with respect to tenders and all project phases.
  • Identify and mitigate potential QHSE, technical and commercial risks for assigned projects.
  • Understand and implement solutions that will strengthen client relationships and monitor client performance against stipulated KPI’s, ensuring feedback is implemented in future work.
  • Be responsible for and monitor project execution and provide support to offshore teams during ongoing challenges and any project or contractual variations that may arise.
  • Develop project procedures and quality plans in alignment with Sulmara’s processes.
  • Attend onshore calibrations and liaise with third party service providers.
  • Undertake project briefings/ debriefings during periods of mob / demobilisation with key survey personnel / other project personnel.
  • Carry out site and client visits were required.

Qualifications / Experience


  • University degree in Survey / Geomatics or Hydrography or equivalent, or relevant industry experience.
  • Extensive field survey experience related to offshore survey.
  • Considerable experience as a Party Chief or similar operative discipline.
  • Ability to make decisions and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Must have a good technical understanding of offshore survey – both online and offline.
