Position

An exciting opportunity became available for a General Manager to support with our Eastern Hemisphere operations and the development and success of Sulmara in Taiwan.

Requirements

  • Support the Regional Director to develop and deliver the business strategy for growth and ultimately self-sufficiency in Taiwan.
  • Identify new opportunities for business growth and contribute to strategic business decision-making.
  • Manage the local entity for growth through resourcing (e.g. facilities, people, assets) and business administration (e.g. compliance, finance, HSEQ).
  • Perform line management responsibilities as required within Taiwan.
  • Accountable for growing and developing Sulmara’s client base in Taiwan.
  • Accountable for Client relationship management including understanding and implementing solutions that will strengthen client relationship.
  • Identify and prioritise new and existing clients and opportunities, not necessarily in traditional fields.
  • Assist Business Development and Sales teams to define and improve sales processes to promote sustainable growth in Taiwan and account for evolving market conditions and opportunities.
  • Work with Business and Sales teams to pursue leads and opportunities from enrolment on bid lists, sales negotiations, through to closing.
  • Support the Commercial Director and Commercial team in managing all commercial activities in Taiwan.
  • Support the Operations Director and Operations team in managing all Operational activities in Taiwan with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Ability to review and analyse client request for quotation and support the compilation of commercial and contractual requirements to aid in the Sulmara’s win strategy and tender submission.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for Sulmara collaborate with Clients and other industry stakeholders to harness people, technology, innovation and methodology to reduce environmental impact, mitigate risk and deliver sustainable value.
  • Assisting Regional Director to control cost and maximise revenue in country with responsibility for delivering local country budget.
  • Develop and manage partnerships with key collaborators and the local supply chain.
  • Espouse Sulmara’s dedication, commitment and initiatives to developing local talent and contributing to the local supply chain.
  • Weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting as required by management.
  • Travel extensively to client meetings, exhibitions, networking events, and management meetings.
  • Coordinate and rigorously plan travel itineraries to make the most effective use of time and resources.
  • Liaise closely with the QHSE department to identify and implement improvements at all levels throughout the business with particular emphasis on adapting to the local requirements in Taiwan.
  • Unwavering promotion of QHSE both internally and externally to our Clients in Taiwan.

Qualifications / Experience


  • Regional expertise and possession of a deep understanding of local politics to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Good commercial and Renewable Energy market awareness.
  • Minimum degree level in relevant industry subject, preferably Maritime, survey or subsea related discipline.
  • Considerable experience in the offshore sector in a management position.
  • Extensive experience within the marine and wider maritime sector.
  • Proven track record in generating new business within Renewable Energy industry.
  • Previous experience managing P&L responsibilities.
  • Resident and/or currently based in Taiwan.
