We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join our Onshore Commercial team, based in our Aberdeen office.
The Contracts Manager will support their respective hemisphere in areas of contractual and insurance activity, in both pre and post contract activities (pre-qualification, tendering and contract / project delivery and insurance claims and renewals).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Supporting the Commercial Director with the application of group contracting strategy, policies and procedures, and assist with the continuous improvement of the same.
• Reviewing, qualification and execution of contract documents on behalf of the hemisphere, including but not limited to client contracts, subcontracts, vessel charters, non-disclosure arrangements, purchase orders, insurance requirements and securities.
• Assisting with provision of general legal, compliance and risk mitigation advice to regional management, as required.
• Provision of support on all aspects of contractual management and interpretation to operations directors, managers and their respective teams.
• First point of contact within the commercial and tendering teams, assisting on matters of risk, rate application, taxation, commercial terms and compliance from the pre-qualification to award stage.
• Analysis and summary of key operational, commercial and legal risks for consideration in tender and project reviews, both at the bid submission and award acceptance stage, as required.
• Dispute resolution support, assisting Commercial Director to interface with and provide guidance to all key stakeholders, including but not limited to project teams, corporate leadership and any appointed counsel, as appropriate.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Experience in contracts management.
• Experience in the fields of contract qualification, negotiation and execution.
• Wide knowledge base, with responsibility for a diverse range of related contractual and commercial functions.
• Ability to interface with and deliver to a variety of individuals, departments and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of the nature of project risk and of risk-reward allocation.
• Fully flexible, with the capability to multi-task and to work to deadline.
• Risk-mitigation, commercial and analytical acumen.
• Knowledge of industry model contracts, including but not limited to LOGIC, BIMCO and similar.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and make decisions.
• Educated to a Degree level in a Business / Commercial, Legal or Quantity Surveying related discipline, or equivalent.
• Relevant contracts experience within an Oil & Gas or Offshore Renewables industry preferred.
• Relevant experience in contractual and commercial negotiations preferred.
