Southcroft Lodge provides hotel-style accommodation for patients discharged from hospital, support for those in Crisis in the Community, long-term supported-living community placements and B&B step-down from the hospital.


We are an expanding not-for-profit Social Care organization that provides high-quality accommodation and support for Service Users who experience Serious Mental Illnesses.


Our aim is to provide a therapeutic, structured environment for Clients to continue their recovery in the community. We empower the individuals we work with to realise their potential.

Position

Support Worker


Salary: £18,000-£23,000


We currently have 16 homes and counting, across South-West London, working with Local Authorities and Mental Health Trusts to place vulnerable adults within one of our 3 Pathways:


  • 24-hour High supported Living placements
  • B&B and Low Supported accommodation
  • Hospital Discharge accommodation

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of Southcroft Healthcare Lodge care and support and service provision to service users through the implementation of a range of direct care interventions to secure the best outcomes for Service Users in our supported accommodations within the Recovery Model.


This will include provision of personal, emotional, social, physical and occupational support needs on a daily or shift rota basis.


  • Please note: This role does not include any regulated care activities as defined by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Requirements

The post holder will require (amongst other requirements):


  • Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care or Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or working towards this qualification
  • Care Certificate Qualification (or an agreement to complete it on accepting any Job Offer)
  • To be computer and IT literate at a level that supports the role to which employed (to be tested in interview)
  • Ability to undertake specific service training as directed by senior staff
  • Understanding of Mental Health and relevant presentations
  • Understanding of Social Care and Health structures in the UK
  • Customer Service qualification or other relevant qualification
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of Mental Health Act and Recovery and rehabilitation principles
