Team
The ultimate purpose of ShareAction’s Investor Standards team is to drive improved responsible investment standards across the investment sector. We do this by engaging with asset managers, retail investors, and other major players in the world of investment. We use our engagement to persuade them to adopt responsible investment practices. Position
The Senior Investment Engagement Officer will grow our UK & EU investor contact base, identify and ameliorate gaps in our current investor engagement, and to help maintain key relationships with current investors.
What you’ll do
- You will be someone with a strong research and analytical background who is looking to develop their relationship management skills.
- You will be working closely with our Financial Sector Engagement Manager implementing a strategy to increase engagement across the UK and EU financial sectors, maintaining records of engagement and supporting the development and refinement of our current engagement processes.
- You will be dealing with general day to day queries from asset managers and other financial sector organisations with the support of the Financial Sector Engagement Manager and will receive continual on the job training and support.
- You will grow the Investor Standards’ investor network in line with KPIs which you will assist in devising.
- You’ll be researching prospective additions to the Investor Standards network.
- You will manage and maintain good quality records of engagements and activities using our CRM.
- You’ll be supporting the Engagement Managers to develop ShareAction’s profile and standing across the Investment sector.
- You’ll be attending industry events & representing ShareAction both in person & online.
- You will support the co-ordination of engagement with investors across multiple work themes.
- You will be identifying dormant contacts within our CRM and develop re-connection processes.
- You will be contributing to Investor Standards team activities including project management, monitoring and evaluation, and investor engagement.
- You’ll assist in ad hoc Investor Standards team activities, including but not limited to mailing current contacts, and attending meetings with asset managers & other key stakeholders in the investment system.
Requirements
What you’ll bring to the team
- We are keen to have your thoughts and input into any projects or work we carry out so being a team player is key;
- We need you to identify asset managers with whom we are not currently engaged, and identify possible engagement routes so excellent research skills are vital;
- You’ll have a high degree of autonomy in the role so you’ll need strong organisational and prioritisation skills;
- You’ll need excellent English communication skills both written and verbal;
- You’ll have experience using a CRM to track and provide updates on engagement;
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
Desirable
- You might have any knowledge or experience of EU investment markets;
- It might be helpful if you can speak/ read any European languages ;
- Experience using SalesForce;
- Experience of working with Microsoft Office 365;
- Knowledge of data protection regulations / GDPR;

Contract type: Permanent
Who it reports to: Financial Sector Engagement Manager
Salary: £27,500 - £33,000 + 8% pension contribution and benefits including a healthcare scheme

ShareAction’s London office is based in vibrant Bermondsey and a short walk from London Bridge underground and national rail. Remote working will remain the norm for many ShareAction staff with office space available in London for those who wish to use it.
