We are at a pivotal moment: the climate and biodiversity crises are deepening, and inequalities are even more marked in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The global investment system has an oversized impact on many of these global challenges We want to make sure that impact is positive. At ShareAction we work with investors, policymakers and individuals to unleash the positive potential of the investment system. We aim to build a world where our financial system serves our planet and its people.
Team
The Private Equity Senior Manager will sit with Asset Owner Initiatives team in the Financial Sector Standards (FSS) directorate. Roles within the team work closely and supportively with networks of asset owners, predominantly in the UK, to help them develop and implement higher standards of practice, and to engage with service providers (asset managers, banks, consultants) in their implementation.
The FSS Directorate is strategically developing its workplan to cover new financial sectors, including private equity. This is an initial 12-month fixed-term contract role (with continuation dependent on outcomes from this phase) reporting to our Asset Owner Initiatives team that will involve building deeper relationships with our global network of asset owners (Limited Partner clients of private equity firms) on the topic of private equity and responsible investment. In addition to developing a stronger understanding of how Limited Partners are thinking about responsible investment in private equity, this role will gauge the appetite of Limited Partners in their willingness to support potential public benchmarking of General Partner firms on responsible investment.
