ShareAction is committed to promoting responsible investment throughout all sectors of society, understanding that the investment industry affects everyone. We welcome anyone who shares our enthusiasm for responsible investment – whether they have experience in the investment system or not.
Holidays
We offer all full-time UK staff 28 days holiday per year, of which 3 must be used between Christmas and the New Year whilst the office is closed, plus all public holidays. This increases to 29 in the January after 3 years service and 30 days in the January after 5 years service.
EU staff members receive 20 legal days of holiday + 5 extra-legal days, 4 days between Christmas and New Year (during which we are closed*) and public holidays. Legal holidays are based on your previous year's work in Brussels.
Holidays are calculated pro-rata, so if you work part-time hours you will have a percentage of the full-time amount.
Hours of Work and Flexible Working
Our standard full-time working week is 35 hours. We do not have core working hours, however most staff usually start between 8 - 10am and finish between 4 - 6pm.
We actively encourage you to work in ways that best suit your needs. Our flexible working policy provides examples of the many options available such as compressed hours (our most popular option!) and part time or term time working.
Pension - For UK Staff
ShareAction contributes the full 8% of gross salary to UK staff pensions. Additionally, if you elect to sacrifice part of your salary to make additional contributions, we'll contribute further to the amount of employer National Insurance that we save too.
Health Scheme - For UK Staff
All UK staff benefit from a Westfield Health cash plan. This enables you to claim money back on optical and dental treatment, as well as items such as physiotherapy, acupuncture, osteopathy, chiropody and homeopathy. The scheme also includes benefits such as a 24-hour advice line, face-to-face counselling and concessionary health club membership. Dependent children are also covered by the scheme, and partners can be added for a small charge.
You can also register for access to exclusive discounts and savings!
Note: You are automatically opted in to this scheme when you start working with us, but can be removed on request.
Season Ticket Loan
A season ticket loan allows you to spread the cost of travelling to work over 6, 10 or 12 months. This means you can benefit from discounts that usually only 6 month or annual tickets provide, without the large upfront expense.
Cycle to Work Scheme
This scheme provides all UK staff with a tax efficient way to buy a bicycle and accessories (such as a helmet, lights and all that lovely lycra) up to a value of £1000.
Training and Development
ShareAction is committed to the development and growth of its employees. We offer regular in-house and external training opportunities and encourage staff to identify other learning opportunities that work for them and contribute to their own personal development.
Sick Pay
We view both physical and mental health the same, and offer a significantly enhanced sick pay scheme, that increases with length of service.
Family Friendly Benefits
ShareAction know how important family is and offer our staff generous leave options including:
Maternity and Adoption Pay
Staff who’ve worked for us continuously for a year or more are entitled to enhanced maternity or adoption pay so long as they come back to work for us. This comprises 18 weeks at 90% salary followed by 21 weeks statutory pay.
Paternity Pay
Staff who’ve worked for us continuously for a year or more are entitled to enhanced paternity pay for two weeks at 90% salary.
Shared Parental Pay
Our shared parental leave pay arrangements mirror our other policies and, if eligible, staff can benefit from up to 18 weeks enhanced parental leave pay at 90% salary in addition to the balance of any statutory payments they may be entitled to.
Carers leave
This is a statutory (unpaid) benefit but at ShareAction this is paid leave. Children are not covered as part of this act, however ShareAction is extending the coverage outlined in the act to cover children as dependents. This is because we recognize that there is a gap between this and unpaid parental leave.
Supporting Mental Health
We strive to make ShareAction a supportive place to work. We have trained Mental Health First Aiders in place, provide training for all managers on managing mental health and for all staff on mental health awareness.
Flu Vouchers
We offer yearly flu vouchers for any UK staff who are not already eligible for a free vaccination. Brussels staff can claim for flu vaccinations on expenses.
Working from Home allowance
As standard all UK staff receive £26 WFH allowance each month.
We offer all Brussels based staff an allowance of 148.73€ a month towards the cost of working at home, plus an internet allowance of 20€ a month.
Meal vouchers - For Brussels staff
We provide 8€ worth of meal vouchers for each day you work. They are 100% exempt from social charges and are not taxable to you.
Transport - For Brussels staff
Your travel to and from work is covered, so we will pay for a monthly STIB/MIVB card, whether you take it or not. You will also receive an allowance for every time you get to work by bike.
Group Health Insurance - For Brussels staff
This benefit is fully covered by ShareAction and offers full coverage (hospitalisation, dental, glasses, and so on). Employees are affiliated as soon as they are employed by ShareAction, and can choose to affiliate members of their family, including spouse/cohabiting partner and children under 25 years old.
Group Pension Insurance - For Brussels staff
Every new employee is automatically added, but you can choose to opt out. We contribute 6% of salary.
