Reporting to: Project Services Lead

Contract: 2-year Fixed term Contract

Salary: €55,000

Post Summary

RCPI is seeking to appoint a Business Analyst to support Programme Management Office (PMO) activities.


The PMO is responsible for managing the digital transformation and business change programmes for RCPI. The Office actively supports and enables the implementation of RCPI’s strategic change programme which includes complex technical, business systems and change projects and programmes.


The Business analyst will work to:


  • Assume responsibility for requirements definition, identifying new project opportunities and make relevant changes to strategies, structures, policies, processes and technology
  • Ensure projects are delivered efficiently
  • Change is embedded throughout the organisation
  • Benefits are realised
  • Coordinate with departments and stakeholders to ensure their needs are met
  • Conduct assessments on the success of change post-implementation
  • Continually enhance and support end user experience by
  • Leading out on the development of project training plans and documentation supporting delivery.
  • Plan and deliver end user training for projects.

This is a unique opportunity for a Business Analyst to work within a dynamic and rapidly developing area of RCPI. This role will suit someone with a number of years of strategic Business Analyst experience, who has the ability to work in complex business environments and who easily engages both key stakeholders and customers. The position will appeal to a self starting, energetic individual who enjoys fresh challenges in an organisation undergoing increased growth and internationalism.


The person will have experience in requirements definition, identifying optimum solutions and a proven history of working on projects from inception to close.


Standard duties of the post

  • Duties will involve, but are not limited to:
  • Contribute to the planning of the BA deliverables and input into overall project plans and projects managed via the Programme Management Office (PMO)
  • Meet with business experts to understand current systems, processes and the ongoing / future requirements.
  • Supporting the business and end users by providing training, system advice, engagement tools, learning aids and other engagement initiatives; being the central knowledge on organisational-wide business systems training.
  • Gather, analyse and distil data to produce clear and concise Detailed Requirements Specifications and ensure buy in and sign-off is received from key stakeholders.
  • Ensure requirements are delivered as per specification.
  • Support the delivery of technology through UAT, training and cross department business practice change
  • Support the transition of the project into operational areas.
  • Conduct post implementation reviews with the business assessing business practice change, policies and procedures, reporting, training and implement measures to address any shortfalls.
  • Conduct regular assessments of business systems to assess best fit for purpose, usability and optimisation opportunities for the business and report results to senior management
  • Provide regular progress reports to the senior management team.
  • Identify opportunities for change across the business and feed them back into the PMO
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time as business needs require

Requirements

Person Specification


  • Educated to degree level standard or equivalent.
  • Experience in an educational institution / professional body desirable or
  • 3-4 years proven capability and experience in a comparable Business Analyst role.
  • Proven track record working with or within 1 or more of the following disciplines, project management, training development, problem solving and achieving deadlines.
  • Ability to work in complex business environments.
  • Experienced in engaging both stakeholder and customers.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communications skills.
  • Excellent ICT skills with the capacity to maximise technology to increase efficiencies in processes and procedures.
