QAA is the UK’s independent quality body for higher education undertaking a diverse range of activity. We have a role in the enhancement and regulation of UK higher education, we provide services for our member universities and colleges, and we work internationally to strengthen the global reputation of UK higher education.

Position

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic PR, Press and Communications Officer who shares our commitment to improving and promoting the UK’s world-class reputation for delivering a quality higher education experience for all students.

This role within our Governance, Policy and Communications department is responsible for the operation of QAA’s public relations, press office and social media work. The role supports the promotion of QAA’s membership services, commercial services and international activity.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has experience within a similar role - developing and handling public relations and press work, responding quickly and appropriately to developing situations including liaison with, and briefing of, senior colleagues.

It is important that you have excellent verbal communication skills. Previous experience of working in the UK higher education sector would be an advantage but is not a requirement.

Location: QAA’s headquarters are in Gloucester with additional offices in London, Glasgow and Cardiff. All QAA staff are currently working from home, but an ability to travel to one of these offices, while not essential, would be an advantage once this becomes possible.

Job type: Full-time, permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week, flexible working available

Salary: £27,373 - £34,480 per annum, dependent upon knowledge, skills and experience
