HR Officer (part time)

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education Remote United Kingdom Finance and Infrastructure Services
Warning! Vacancy expired

Company Description

This is an exciting time to join an organisation with an important role in the UK’s world-class higher education sector. Over the last few years, the UK higher education landscape has adapted rapidly in unique circumstances and QAA's priority has been to support providers as they meet these challenges.

We are the UK's independent quality body for higher education with a mission to safeguard and improve the quality of UK higher education, wherever it is delivered in the world. QAA is the UK’s authority on quality and standards, acting as custodian on behalf of the sector of reference points including the UK Quality Code for Higher Education, Subject Benchmark Statements and the Frameworks for Higher Education Qualifications.

QAA provides services through membership to benefit universities and colleges throughout the UK and to support their operation globally. We work closely with the governments in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and until March 2023 have a discrete role providing assessment functions for the Office for Students as the designated quality body in England.

Position

We are looking for an HR Officer to join our HR and Organisational Development (OD) team. We are a small, dynamic team and this role will work alongside our Senior HR Officer and HR Coordinator, reporting to the Head of HR and OD.

This role is responsible for delivering a proactive, professional and flexible service to all colleagues, acting as a source of expertise, providing advice, information and practical support with people-related matters. Alongside business as usual, this role is responsible for all recruitment-related activity and leads on wellbeing and engagement initiatives across the organisation. The role is also responsible for monitoring and updating people policies and managing the monthly payroll.

We are looking for someone with generalist HR experience, who has strong experience in managing effective recruitment and selection processes. It is important that the successful candidate is comfortable providing advice and guidance to managers and has experience in developing and implementing people policies and payroll processes.

We are looking for someone with a flexible, ‘can-do approach’, who is self-motivated and keen to get involved and take initiative to meet the needs of QAA.

We work flexibly at QAA, with the majority of colleagues working from home, so the successful candidate would need to be happy with this way of working.

More information can be found in the job description. If you would like an informal conversation about this role, please contact the HR team at [email protected] in the first instance.

Closing date for applications is Tuesday 28 March 2023 at 5pm.

To apply for this role, please submit your CV with a short covering letter.
