Company Description

This is an exciting time to join an organisation with an important role in the UK’s world-class higher education sector. Over the last year, the UK higher education landscape has adapted rapidly in unique circumstances and QAA's priority has been to support providers as they meet these challenges.

We are the UK's independent quality body for higher education with a mission to safeguard and improve the quality of UK higher education, wherever it is delivered in the world. QAA works as the designated quality body for higher education in England, and works closely with the devolved administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our new membership scheme was launched in August 2019. We're changing the way we work and introducing new services to benefit universities and colleges throughout the UK and support their operation globally.

Position

We’re looking for an experienced business development professional who shares our commitment to improving and promoting the UK’s world-class reputation for delivering a quality higher education experience for all students.

This role within our business development team is responsible for developing QAA’s sales channels and delivering commercial growth primarily overseas, but also in the UK, through an expanding portfolio of services. The successful applicant will work with the QAA business development team to manage all lead generation, sales and conversion activity and achieve commercial targets. The role involves regular travel in the UK and overseas.

This role is within our International and Professional Services department and reports into the Head of Business Development for QAA Global.

Requirements

We are looking for an ambitious and sales-driven individual, with a strong sense of commercial acumen and a successful track record of consultative sales. The postholder is also required to have an understanding of the higher education sector and the current issues and challenges it faces.

It's important that you have sales experience, preferably in an international and/or commercial context and are confident in managing business development activity, working on client proposals and tenders, building a sales pipeline and delivering to budget and schedule.

The successful applicant will work within the QAA business development team and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, commercial environment.
