We provide schools with online learning solutions, from structured content to courses fully taught by our own teachers. We teach thousands of students from hundreds of schools around the world.

For the past 10 years we have supported schools in the successful delivery of their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. We are now embarking on the next phase of the company’s growth with an ambitious plan to expand into new markets. We have been approved by Cambridge Assessment International Education to teach IGCSE and International AS and A Level courses online from September 2019.

We are now seeking a Community Team Member to join our expanding Academic Team.

Position

The Community team provides and maintains the collaborative community space for all members of the teaching community and in addition, platform-specific advisory services as part of the academic delivery team. They are dedicated to supporting the Principal of Online Courses and Academic Team so that teachers of Pamoja courses receive quality assured spaces, resources and guidance in order to ensure course delivery to a high standard, whilst supporting the teachers in their commitment to this.

With a strong background and experience in Pamoja course delivery, the Community Head of this team coordinates the development of support resources, guidance and provides advisory services for teaching teams in all subjects.

To ensure Pamoja course delivery standards are supported through:

1. Support services for Teachers; 

  • Maintaining a high-quality discussion forum within the learning community and support discussions within the subject area;
  • Provide a controlled, shared repository for collaboration documents;
  • Actively support, timely topics to enhance teachers’ knowledge;
  • Collaborate with community team members to create and host scheduled webinar.

2. Services for Community Head;

  • Escalate issues, specific comments or discussions raised in community;
  • Escalate emerging trends and themes which may occur at different times of the year;
  • Attend scheduled administration meetings as required;
  • Support the Head of Community in the provision of reports* where required containing:
    • Current topics in professional learning space and subject workspaces;
    • Trends;
    • Comparison of subject workspaces’ activities and practices.
    • Support other teams in the coordinating of the capture of teacher feedback for improvement in collaboration and in the overall improvements of the workspaces.

3. To raise the profile of Pamoja as a leader in blended learning through representation in:

  • Public Relations
    • Presenting at conferences;
    • Visiting schools and global education ministries as appropriate;
    • Contributing to blogs.
  • Research
    • Contributing to the programme evaluation and research agenda;
    • Contributing to partnerships with educational research institutions.

Requirements

  • Solid experience as a Pamoja Education subject teacher
  • Demonstrable experience in Online forums or Communities
  • High standard of accuracy and consistent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Able to work as part of a team, collaborating effectively
  • Discreet, diplomatic and reliable
  • Able to adapt and thrive in a changing environment
  • Tech savvy and conversant with Microsoft Office 365 (including MS SharePoint), and Zoom

Other information

Service Requirements

The Contractor will be required to provide the Services for not less than 48 weeks out of 52 and subject to any earlier termination of this Agreement. For the avoidance of doubt the volume of work will be driven by the Client’s business requirements and this maybe varied and flexible throughout the Term of the Agreement.

The Principal of Online Courses in partnership with the Community Head will be able to determine the priority of Services, throughout the duration of the Contract, in agreement with the Contractor.

FEES

Fixed Fee of $13,905 per Academic Year, paid in monthly installments.
