We have an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Legal Executive to join the Legal team.The successful candidate will work as part of a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment. The candidate will ideally have a legal background.

Position

Role Responsibilities:

The Legal Executive’s primary responsibility will be to support the transaction execution team in managing transactions, such as aircraft sales, acquisitions, leases and financings, and in maintaining proper departmental protocols and systems.

  • Supporting the transaction lawyers in project managing transactions through all phases including structuring, diligence, documentation and closing
  • Supporting the department in maintaining the filing system for Legal matters, including assisting with revised protocols and roll-out of same
  • Ensuring that all documentation is completed to meet deadlines and in accordance with internal standards and protocols
  • Documentation management; ensuring entire suite of transaction documentation is contained in original document sets and distributed in a timely manner
  • Ensuring bibles of documentation are created and saved as per the Company policy
  • Ensuring all appropriate filings are completed
  • Preparing first drafts of certain primary transaction documents
  • Running point on special projects (e.g., departmental, transactional, research)
  • Co-ordinating weekly departmental meetings and maintaining minutes of same
  • Maintaining departmental project tracker and updates from Legal into other inter-company tracking reports
  • Filing of Forms with the Companies Registration Office, attending to a notary and/or Department of Foreign Affairs
  • Ad hoc project work

Requirements

Key Competencies and Experience

  • Degree preferably in law or in business, minimum 2.1 in relevant degree.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and keen to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and take ownership of area of responsibility.
