ORIX Aviation has offices in Dublin and Hong Kong and works closely with a team of aviation specialists in ORIX Corporation in Tokyo. The team consists of 100+ aviation professionals across the three locations.

In addition to our role as an aircraft lessor, we are also focused on asset management and aircraft trading opportunities in the aircraft leasing space while maintaining a very strong balance sheet and funding to support future growth.

Our trading activity supports both the growth of our aircraft fleet and the growth of aircraft stock to trade to investors / joint ventures for whom ORIX acts as asset manager. In financial year April 2018 to March 2019, we executed US$4.6 billion in aircraft transactions. In only seven years, ORIX Aviation has doubled the number of aircraft owned, managed, and committed for a current total of greater than 230 aircraft, valued in excess of US$9 billion. Including a 30% ownership of fellow aircraft lessor Avolon, the total assets under management now exceed US$17 billion. ORIX Aviation is the only S&P ranked aircraft servicer and recently had its rating reconfirmed a “strong”- the highest possible ranking - with a stable outlook.

Our core mission is to further expand our unique foothold in the aircraft leasing business by looking at opportunities for continuing growth, while maintaining our top S&P servicer ranking and to further achieve very meaningful growth through strategic positioning and M&A transactions.

Position

We are pleased to announce our year-long Graduate Programme in Dublin, which is open to candidates who are currently undertaking or recently completed undergraduate degrees or masters in Aviation, Business, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or related disciplines.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain insight into and experience in a dynamic and growing industry in which Ireland is a world leader.

Positions will be available within the following teams:

  • The Financial Asset Management Team administers the leases through active communication with lessees. This involves maintenance cash flow forecasting and preparation of periodic reports/models, invoicing and administration of rental income, and cost management during transactions. A Graduate in this position may also work with the Compliance Team, which monitors the company’s corporate compliance requirements and tests the company’s adherence to key legal obligations.
  • The Risk Team’s function is to help qualify business opportunities and protect the interests of the company, its investors, and JV partners via diligent and timely credit, “Know Your Customer”, market, and macroeconomic research and analysis.
  • The Commercial Team negotiates the terms of asset acquisitions and project manages them to completion. They also develop and implement a re-lease or disposal strategy for each aircraft or stand-alone engine which maximises the return on that asset.

  • The Technical Team provides expertise in the technical management of all Aircraft, Engines and Spare Parts owned or managed by the Company. Technical tracks and monitors aircraft assets on lease and provides expert technical advice to the Company in relation to all Transactions.

Requirements

  • You’ll be highly organised and efficient, a keen learner and adaptable to change.
  • A strong communicator, presenting information excellently both in written and verbal format.
  • You are a problem solver with a keen analytical ability and strong attention to detail.
  • You’ll be a self-starter and enjoy working under pressure.
  • You enjoy building and managing relationships as part of a team.
  • You will hold a Bachelor’s Degree, in Finance, Business, Engineering, Economics or similar achieving a minimum grade of a 2.1.
  • A Masters in a related area is an advantage or another such qualification related to Aviation and Aviation Finance

    • During December, a select number of applicants will be sent a case study to complete on a specified timeline and submit online
  • Stage Three: Interviews
    • Interviewees will be notified in December 2019
    • Two rounds of interviews will be conducted in January and February 2020
  • Stage Four: Offers and Start Date
    • Offers will be made in February / March 2020
    • The Graduate Programme will be one year and can commence between June and September 2020
