Company Description

Options Consultancy Services Limited is a leading global health consultancy established in 1992 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Marie Stopes International. We manage health programmes that ensure vulnerable women and children can access the high quality health services they need. We work with partners to co-create and implement locally informed solutions to complex health problems. This includes governments, development partners, NGOs, civil society and health workers. Our programming is flexible, evidence-based and politically informed. This means we adapt to changing contexts, use data to inform our decisions and ensure our approach is appropriate. Our focus is always on building local skills and systems that last.

Position

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Programme Manager to support the delivery of the FCDO’s Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) project, Lot 1, implemented in West Africa, as well as provide support to specific countries in WISH2ACTION (Lot 2.)

As Programme Manager, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient project management of the WISH Lot 1 programme as well as provide support to specific countries in WISH2ACTION. You will work closely with other Options’ team members to ensure that all work is carried out to high standards, and overall to support the development of the organisation. You will report to the Regional National Ownership Lead (WISH programme) and will be based in one of Options’ WISH offices in either Kenya, Nigeria, DRC or Malawi with some overseas travel, depending on COVID-19 restrictions.

The WISH programme builds on previous successful initiatives supported by FCDO and others to expand sexual and reproductive health care services and support countries which have made FP2020 commitments to achieve them. The programme is expected to ensure that women are able to safely plan their pregnancies and improve their sexual and reproductive health, particularly the young and marginalised. The WISH Lot 1 consortium is led by MSI Reproductive Choices (formerly Marie Stopes International), and Options is responsible for leading the National Ownership output under Lot 1. Our approach to National Ownership comprises of four strategies: increase government commitment to SRH outcomes through domestic financing; use evidence-based advocacy and effective partnerships to strengthen policy and legislation; use evidence to hold government to account for SRH outcomes; and promote quality control and standards of service provision and care.

You have experience of project management in international development and public health or similar sector. You have experience of building successful relationships with clients, collaborators and consultants, be confident in financial management and be able to manage multiple and competing priorities. A confident self-starter, you have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-moving and complex environment. It is desirable that the successful candidate is fluent in French: written, reading and verbal.
