ZOLA Electric Labs is seeking a Vice President, Manufacturing and Supply Chain for our San Francisco location. If you are selected for this role, you will play a critical role in our global mission as a member of the Leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO.
The VP, Manufacturing and Supply Chain will build and lead Zola’s supply chain management and manufacturing capabilities, including: materials procurement, capital purchase negotiations, sourcing planning, order fulfillment, quality and supply chain strategy and development. The supply chain team supports global production facilities, as well as planned worldwide expansions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Participate as a member of the Leadership team in the development of the 5-year Corporate Strategy and identify a collection of strategic initiatives to drive overall corporate objectives
Develop the 3 to 5-year SCM & Manufacturing strategy aligned to the overall company strategy
Stay abreast of technology and manufacturing developments across the supply chain and in particular around batteries, modules, and electronics.
Perform supply market and supplier analysis, supply planning, negotiating, contracting, supplier management and performance management (i.e. compliance, use of total cost of ownership models, etc.)
Manage global logistics – 3PLs, sea and land transportation, insurance, risks, etc.
Manage order fulfilment, planning, sourcing, cost reductions, CM management
Develop and monitor divisional annual budget based on operational and financial targets
Manage the recruitment of direct reports in collaboration with the operational Human Capital Department
Manage the performance of direct reports, ensuring agreement of annual goals, measuring performance against agreed goals and dealing with areas of non-performance
Lead, coach and mentor direct reports to foster personal growth and teamwork
Lead collaborative efforts across other functions to understand and resolve operational problems on the ground
Monitor risks through the management of a comprehensive risk framework to assess risks and devise risk mitigation plans
Provide strategic advice to top management and the rest of the business pertaining to the function
Develop roadmap with Product Management and Hardware teams
MBA/MS in Engineering Management (Preferred)
10-12+ years experience in Supply Chain Management, of which 5-6 years is in a management/leadership role
Supply chain expertise – Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in sourcing and procurement.
Broad experience with different commodities, manufacturing processes and technologies (i.e. various metals and manufacturing processes, plastics, PCBA manufacturing, product integrations, etc.)
Knowledge of procurement methodologies and outsourcing
Knowledge of global supply chain management, particularly in low cost geographies including Asia
Knowledge of global procurement strategies
Knowledge of solar, batteries, energy storage and LEDs is advantageous
Understanding of the local markets
Deep expertise in battery technologies, quality, sourcing
Strong NPI experience a plus, including deep working relationship with PM and Engineering
Knowledge of Lean and Six-sigma practices
