Position

  • Act as a key member of the company’s leadership team, influencing the overall strategic direction of the company.
  • Manage day-to-day hardware development operations.
  • Inform R&D priorities and work-streams in collaboration with Product Architect and academic partner institutions
  • Ensure world-class product development process followed and reported throughout the organization.
  • Improve & Oversee New Product Introduction processes
  • Improve & Oversee Quality Management processes
  • Collaborate on Market Requirements Document for new products with Product Management, CTO, Marketing and other key stakeholders
  • Develop a quality strategy for new product and plan with test engineers to ensure high yield and high production rate at the lowest cost.
  • Lead the initial supplier qualification for a new product or new process validation and approval
  • Ongoing Reliability Test (ORT)
  • Certification/compliance – Lighting Global, UL, CE, etc.
  • Develop the annual budget based on operational and financial targets
  • Monitor the operating budget to ensure expenditure is aligned to budget allocations
  • Address budget variances with the Finance to clarify over or under-spend
  • Authorize expenses as per delegation of authority
  • Recruit highly productive engineering team.
  • Set and manage team OKRs
  • Act as custodian of succession plan development
  • Lead, coach and mentor direct reports to foster personal growth and teamwork
  • Manage the administration of direct reports through the approval of leave, subsistence and travel expenses
  • Build academic relationships to enhance technology and recruiting pipeline
  • Engage across company leadership in hardware engineering strategic and operational matters
  • Participate in Executive Committee & Board Meetings to discuss the progress of engineering effort and risk factors.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience in industry experience at top consumer electronic or electric vehicle manufacturers
  • 10 years’ experience in hardware engineering, of which 6 years is in a management/leadership role
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the area of power electronics(110-240V AC/ 12-48 VDC) solutions, e.g. Electrical Cars, Home Power Solutions, Battery systems, Automotive.
  • Deep domain knowledge in lithium battery management and power conversion.
  • Deep knowledge of product development process (from R&D to mass production)
  • Working knowledge of firmware & mechanical engineering principles
  • Proven success in leading high-performance engineering teams
  • Knowledge of financial principles
  • Strategic management and planning skills
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • Deep professional network of professionals, contractors and advisors.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
