Off Grid Electric is seeking a Director Financial Planning & Analysis to drive the FP&A activities for OGE, reporting to the CFO. The responsibilities of the role cover management and stakeholder reporting, performance management, pricing and foreign currency management. Responsibilities are:

  • Full ownership for timely and accurate reporting of management reporting;
  • Preparing responses to shareholder requests;
  • Developing and maintaining operational model of the company;
  • Lead the company’ s budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads and building department budgets;
  • Ensure high degree of forecasting accuracy;
  • Monitor the departmental operating budget to ensure expenditure is aligned to budget allocations;
  • Ongoing tracking of corporate initiatives;  
  • Develop holistic business insights from internal and external data source;
  • Manage monthly country performance review process;
  • Address budget variances with the department management to drive mitigation measures;
  • Performing meaningful operational and financial analysis to identify variances and improvement potential for the company on an ongoing and ad-hoc basis;
  • Transforming raw data into usable and concise external facing models and presentations;
  • Develop models to better understand OGE’s foreign currency risk;
  • Collaborate with controller to mitigate forex exposure;
  • Managing of local finance managers and group analyst to ensure standardized FP&A effort;
  • Development of FP&A tools and enforcement of consistent and correct usage by all team members.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting with an additional certification such as CFA or CPA;
  • 8-10 years’ Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience;
  • Ability to understand the business, operations strategy and reflect that understanding in external and internal communication both quantitatively and qualitatively;
  • Experience setting up a global FP&A effort in a growth-stage start-up company or running FP&A at a larger company;
  • Advanced modeling experience;
  • Advanced analytical skills and business understanding and experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or accounting;
  • Experience in managing (virtual) teams;
  • Very strong skills in Microsoft Excel including advanced knowledge of financial formulas, pivot tables, and macros;
  • Strong skills in other Microsoft applications, such as PowerPoint;
  • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software, preferably NetSuite;
  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and the creation of financial statements;
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized;
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines and effectively working under time pressure;
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees;
  • Ability to present to senior management clearly and concisely articulating complex issues;
  • Self-Starter with the desire to make a difference to the lives of the rural poor in Africa;
  • Analytical and attention to detail;
  • Deadline driven, planning & organizing skills.
