The digital marketer will run our social media strategy, optimize our websites, run search engine marketing campaigns, and be an integral part of all our marketing initiatives. Working in conjunction with other marketing programs, the digital marketer will develop and implement programs, produce content, track and optimize our digital marketing campaigns across all online channels. This role works in service to our optimal customer journey, and bring digital solutions to delivering it. The Digital Marketer is responsible for:

  • Design, build and cultivate audiences on branded and highly interactive presences on social media networks (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages with off-the-shelf web tools with embedded behavioral analytics
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Optimize website traffic with the latest search engine optimization techniques, ongoing content marketing, and coordination with PR campaigns
  • Conduct search engine marketing (SEM) and targeted Facebook advertising, using test-and-iterate approach to drive conversion improvements
  • Manage display advertising, including collaboration with agencies/vendors on the design, development, production of all necessary media required to launch campaigns
  • Design email marketing to attract new customers and encourage referrals
  • Produce analytics to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple digital channels and customer touch points
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights
  • Generate innovative growth strategies through digital channels
  • Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for digital marketing adoption where appropriate


We seek someone who is a natural with Internet-based communication, skilled in running consumer oriented marketing programs, with a record of working with cross-functional marketing teams on demand generation, conversion campaigns and content marketing. In collaboration with the marketing manager, this role will be responsible for planning and implementing strategies focused on social media, public websites, search engine marketing, email marketing, and online display advertising.

  • A Bachelor degree in a relevant field (Marketing, Social Media, Communications)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • The digital marketer should have proven, strong understanding and significant experience in current digital marketing tools and strategies; and be able to lead content development and integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution.
  • This role will work with the Marketing team, our Digital Platforms group, supporting teams (such as Sales and Service), and vendors/partners to launch campaigns on time and on budget.
  • Digital marketing will support multiple markets across both East and West Africa.
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • General competence with core web concepts such HTML, CSS and Java script
  • Capable of launching web and mobile sites on Wordpress given standard templates
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and social media user funnels
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Solid knowledge of popular social media analytics tools
  • Basic knowledge on content marketing, and ability to create great content
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in English and French required; Swahili skills desirable
