Position

Role Purpose


The role involves supporting the business by implementing the fund risk management framework and assisting the Investment Risk Team in undertaking quantitative analysis of fund portfolios investing in a range of asset classes.


Key Responsibilities


  • To assist with the development, maintenance and implementation of the investment risk oversight framework
  • To support the Investment Risk Team in providing independent monitoring and oversight of key investment risks, including market, liquidity, counterparty and derivative risk and exposure, ensuring they are appropriate given a fund’s investment objectives, policies and strategies
  • To produce investment risk and exposure reports for senior management and committees
  • To monitor funds to ensure they are investment in accordance with their investment risk limits
  • To undertake stress testing on the fund portfolios, including both historical and hypothetical scenarios, relating to market risk, liquidity risk, and other risk factors as appropriate to a fund’s objectives and strategies
  • To analyse breaches of any applicable limits, provide challenge to investment managers and ensure any actions required to close such breaches are followed up to completion
  • To ensure the timely and accurate completion of regulatory fund reporting including AIFMD returns and UCITS derivative Use Reports
  • To assist with general risk queries
  • To produce performance attribution reports for all IFSL Funds, including Equity, Fixed Income and Multi-Asset

Requirements

Essential Skills:

Beneficial Skills:

  • Experience using widely used performance and risk monitoring systems

Essential Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level

Beneficial Qualifications:

  • Completed or working towards an appropriate industry qualification such as the Investment Operations Certificate (IOC), Investment Management Certificate (IMC) or CFA

Essential Experience:


A demonstrable interest in financial markets

An understanding of the UK Regulatory Framework


Beneficial Experience:

  • Experience in an investment risk or related role within financial services
  • Knowledge of key relevant regulatory and statutory requirements, in particular UCITS and AIFMD
