We’re looking for a talented writer with a strong interest in UK and overseas stock markets. You’ll build relationships with our award-winning fund managers and turn their insights into clear and informative content for financial professionals and retail investors. You don’t need to be an expert in financial markets. If you can demonstrate strong writing skills and a willingness to understand the investment world then we’ll give you all the training and support you need to succeed.


Role Purpose

  • Promote Marlborough and our range of products and services by writing accurate and engaging copy across our multi-channel proposition
  • Support Senior Manager Group by providing compelling internal communications to the wider Marlborough audience
  • Have a strong sense of storytelling that can influence decisions to create success for the brand and our business partners
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with our key stakeholders at all levels across the Group
  • Ability to create compelling communications in a fast-paced environment while ensuring content meets the evolving requirements of our audiences and compliance regulations

Key Responsibilities

  • Write topical and persuasive content that ties back to our value proposition to drive awareness, engagement and lead generations across our diverse product range
  • Interview and liaise with subject matter experts across key areas including research, product, compliance, commercial and marketing
  • Be an expert on our product offering, understanding implications for commentary based on asset class, sector and region
  • Support the Marketing and Content Team by sharing oversight of trending content formats, topics and companies
  • Proof read commentary written by investment management professionals
  • Repurpose existing copy for different audiences and applications
  • With training, understand compliance requirement for various regions and audience and help ensure all requirements are met
  • Responsibility for ensuring that you have a strong understanding of funds in focus, market activity, campaign activity and client needs in order to develop content pipelines that meet commercial objectives
  • Ensure consistency across content in terms of tone, voice and visual representation, in line with our brand and style guidelines
  • Keep abreast of competitor activity and content strategies
  • Take ownership of workstreams and tasks and manage them through to completion in a fast-paced corporate environment

Requirements

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent written skills
  • Innovative and creative thinking and ability to execute content for multi-channel campaigns
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience managing data
  • PC literacy and internet skills
  • Excellent numeric skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft software
  • Ability to problem solve and deal with complex queries

Beneficial Skills:

  • Knowledge of collective investment schemes and/or investment management

Essential Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent level qualification

Beneficial Qualifications:

  • Completion or working towards the IOC (Investment Operations Certificate) qualification
  • Marketing qualifications from the CIM or similar

Essential Experience:

  • Experience of producing regular, timely and high-quality communications, either from a previous role or demonstrable through educational background

Beneficial Experience

  • Experience working as an investment writer in the asset management industry
  • Experience of working in a sales or marketing environment
