Position

Offshore Generator Technicians will be responsible for installing, testing, inspecting and maintaining a range of JCB generators.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a range of generators, typically ranging from 20kVA up to 116KVA
  • Monitoring and maintaining a range of spares and materials
  • Testing and inspecting a range of generators
  • Organizing and segregating waste materials produced from the maintenance of said generator works
  • Apply fault finding techniques when attending breakdowns
  • To always work in a safe and professional manner
  • Follow Risk Assessment and Method statements
  • Follow Clients HSE protocols
  • To always represent Manor Renewable Energy in a professional manner
  • Organizing tools and other materials to carry out day to day tasks
  • To support the Shore Based Manager whenever possible
  • Compiling and completing service engineer report
  • Assisting with the mobilisation and de-mobilisation of offshore generators
  • Submitting observation cards when necessary (positive and negative)
  • Monitor and renew any training certificates critical to your role
  • To assess refueling technicians with the refueling of offshore generators
  • Attend any Toolbox talks given by MRE or client

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Mechanical and / or Electrical Certificates
  • 5 GWOs
  • Working at Height
  • Manual Handling
  • Fire Awareness
  • First Aid
  • Sea Survival
  • Medical
  • Chester Step Certificate

Knowledge and Experience

  • Must have experience working with Generators, either onshore or offshore
  • Previous experience of working on offshore wind farms would be beneficial
  • GWO Enhanced First Aid and Advanced Rescue Training would be highly desirable
  • Electrical experience, would also, be highly desirable

Skills and Competence

  • Confident interpersonal communication skills are important as well as being a team player
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to think problems through logically
  • A calm and professional manner
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work

Competitive day rates for contractors and direct hire options available to successful candidates, time for time rotations.

Must have the right to work in the UK.
