Position

The Marine & Engineering Quantity Surveyor will have involvement in a range of activities ensuring ownership and progression on all business from award to delivery, providing regular overviews on multiple project scheduling, spend and procurement status. The role will report to the Commercial Director and the Managing Director of Manor Marine.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • An intrinsic part of the Manor Marine management team, interfacing with sales, estimation, procurement and project management personnel to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
  • Input to estimation and scheduling including calculation of material and labour quantities and costs
  • Provide clear, accurate and informative progress reports and presentations including analysis of variations
  • Provide support to the Group planner and project managers to ensure accurate production schedules
  • Ensure procurement is aligned with production schedule and any potential delays are identified
  • Promote and implement company HSEQ policies and procedures in coordination with HSEQ department and project managers
  • Ensure that risk assessments and method statements are adhered to
  • Contribution to customer meetings

Requirements

  • Relevant degree level education or professional qualification
  • Minimum five years’ experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to speak and write in a clear, concise manner to build credibility with people at all levels
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail and an analytical approach
  • Good understanding of engineering science, construction and technology desirable
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations, preferably IOSH Managing Safely trained
  • IT literate and confident using project management software

Other information

Competitive remuneration package with 25 days holiday + bank holidays a year, pension, discount voucher scheme. Full time 40 hr week, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30 with a half hour unpaid lunch break. Full training & support will be provided where necessary and appropriate.
