Position

The Logistics Coordinator coordinates the timely and cost-effective despatch and delivery of equipment to project sites and is accountable to the Head of Projects and is based in the Portsmouth Office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the project team and the equipment depot, ensuring timely and cost-effective despatch and delivery of equipment to project sites throughout the UK, Europe and Asia
  • Liaison with external transport providers, freight forwarders and customs agents
  • Handling associated customs matters including support to on-site personnel
  • Managing and optimising in-house HGV facility. Transport Managers experience would be advantageous
  • Ensuring the groups legal compliance with transport legislation for both personnel and vehicles
  • Occasional visits to the Portland office will be required and possibly other locations in the UK

Requirements

Ideally the successful candidate will have:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional level is preferred
  • Minimum three years’ experience in logistics role
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to organise and prioritise own workload
  • General computer skills including the use of MS Office
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proactive

Other information

Competitive remuneration package with 25 days holiday + bank holidays a year, pension, with a competitive starting wage dependant on skills and qualifications. Full time 37 ½ hr week. Full training & support will be provided where necessary and appropriate.

Must have the right to work in the UK.
