Provisioning Engineer (Voice / VoIP)

Manchester (with hybrid working)

Your role

In this exciting role of Provisioning Engineer (we call it a Delivery Engineer) you’ll act as a key point of contact for the Voice Provisioning team who specialise in voice / VoIP product portfolios, managed service delivery and cancellations, whilst taking ownership of the provisioning of new services and products to be delivered to M247 customers.

As the ideal candidate, you’ll have proven experience in a similar Provisioning Engineer role, for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or Internet Service Provider (ISP) working specifically with voice / VoIP systems and the SIP protocol. What you’ll do:

  • You’ll implement technical solutions for new customers following any documented standards, ensuring all elements of an order are tested before handing over to customers.
  • You’ll identify and document any provisioning processes that require updating within our knowledge base, whilst diagnosing and troubleshooting any issues that may arise during the process.
  • You’ll collaborate across the Voice Support team to ensure that technical skills are shared with colleagues to assist in providing exceptional customer experience to M247 customers, whilst partnering with Project Managers on product expertise, customer training, and assisting sales/presales where necessary.
  • You’ll thoroughly test new products that are within our product catalogue pipeline and prepare documentation to enable handover to the Voice Support team.
  • You’ll process number porting orders, as well as monitoring and maintenance of M247s porting records documentation to ensure all records are reliable and up to date.
  • On a day-to-day basis you’ll also be responsible for the management of the new orders queue and SLA delivery timescales, as well as the onboarding, provisioning, training and handing over of new customers.
  • You’ll also take part in the voice network On-Call rota.

Requirements


Your skills and experience

Should have

  • Proven in a similar Provisioning Engineer role, for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or Internet Service Provider (ISP) working specifically with Voice / VoIP systems.
  • Hosted Voice, SIP trunking and SIP routing, including Debug at installation.
  • SIP debug and Wireshark analysis at both a high and low level.
  • Microsoft Teams (Direct Routing / Enterprise Voice).
  • In-depth knowledge of Voice hardware, such as Polycom and/or Yealink.
  • Project or order delivery environment.
  • TCP/IP and core routing fundamentals, including subnetting and IP routing.


Nice to have

  • Any relevant vendor networking or VoIP qualifications.
  • Broadsoft within a service desk environment.
  • PBX or Asterisk-based systems.
  • Knowledge in media gateways, such as Vega.
