Legal Counsel

Your role

In this pivotal role of Legal Counsel, you’ll take the lead of our legal function at M247 with a focus on commercial, telecoms and property matters, including dispute resolution, terms and conditions and regulatory compliance. In this fast-paced and varied position, you’ll have direct impact and influence within the wider business.

As the ideal candidate, you’ll be a UK qualified Solicitor and you’re likely to come from a similar Legal Counsel role, likely in telecoms and/or retail, where you’ve bridged the gap between customers, your stakeholders and compliance. As part of an ambitious and expanding business, this is an ideal opportunity for a driven individual ready for a new and exciting challenge.

What you’ll do

• You’ll convert Commercial and Technology's products and services requirements into legally binding standard customer T&Cs (MSAS and Product agreements), as well as creating bespoke standard T&Cs for large customers with specific requirements.

• You’ll perform all the required legal work on our 100+ point of presence (POP) site leases, office spaces and distribution centres.

• You’ll provide legal perspective and guidance on customer and supplier disputes, whilst liaising directly with customer or supplier lawyers where necessary.

• You’ll review and understand supplier contracts and insurance T&Cs, highlighting any associated risks and making recommendations of the best course of action.

• You’ll ensure regulatory compliance including the interpretation and compliance of Ofcom General Conditions.

• You’ll also deal with ad-hoc/minor corporate legal matters.

Your skills and experience

• Established, highly credible and qualified Legal Counsel, or similar.

• Proven within telecoms and commercial settings.

• Meticulous attention to detail, coupled with outstanding organisation, planning and prioritisation skills.

• Fantastic communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex matters into simplified terminology.

• A proactive approach to solutions, taking ownership and driving to resolution.
