Your role

In this exciting and pivotal Head of Operational Finance and Projects opportunity here at M247, you’ll strategically lead and develop our diverse and multidisciplined Finance Team.

As the ideal candidate in this varied and business-critical role, you’ll be a natural problem solver who’s accustomed to having influence and autonomy to manage change, whilst being credible and impactful within the telecoms and/or IT sector. As part of an ambitious and expanding business, this is an ideal opportunity for you as a highly motivated Head of Operational Finance to take the next step in your career.


What you’ll do:

  • You’ll oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking & Billing functions to ensure the timely processing of day to day transactions.
  • You’ll be responsible for the day to day cash management and short term cash forecasting for UK operations.
  • You’ll also be responsible for delivery of month end close within the agreed timetable and relevant balance sheet ownership.
  • You’ll be the main point of contact with bank on day to day matters
  • You’ll provide ongoing support and development to direct reports and wider team
  • You’ll review all processes, including the development and implementation of new processes to drive efficiencies across the team, ensure robustness and improve value of the outputs.
  • You’ll support with business transformation projects in particular consideration of financial implications of key decisions
  • You'll be the main point of contact and lead improvement projects for financial systems within M247
  • You’ll provide provision of ad-hoc analysis for the Management Team and support the annual audit process.

Requirements


Your skills and experience

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified or QBE
  • Experience in a similar role covering sales and purchase ledger responsibility preferably in a fast paced and complex environment
  • Proven experience of problem solving and analysis techniques
  • Experience in dealing with multiple complex demands from various areas of the business and various levels of seniority
  • Ability to deal with detail yet understand and communicate the big picture
  • Ability to influence across variety of roles and levels
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills

Who has access to data?

 Your information will be shared internally for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes members of the HR and recruitment team, interviewers involved in the recruitment process, managers in the business area with a vacancy and IT staff if access to the data is necessary for the performance of their roles.

The company will not share your data with third parties, unless your application for employment is successful and it makes you an offer of employment. The company will then share your data with former employers to obtain references for you, employment background check providers to obtain necessary background checks and the Disclosure and Barring Service to obtain necessary criminal records checks.

The company will not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area.

How does the company protect data?

 The company takes the security of your data seriously. It has internal policies and controls in place to ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused or disclosed, and is not accessed except by our employees in the proper performance of their duties.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.

For how long does the company keep data?

 If your application for employment is unsuccessful, the company may hold your data on file for a further 4 month period for consideration for future employment opportunities. At the end of that period or if you withdraw your consent, your data is deleted or destroyed.

If your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personnel file and retained during your employment. The periods for which your data will be held will be provided to you in a new privacy notice.

What if you do not provide personal data?

You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to the company during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide the information, the company may not be able to process your application properly or at all. If your application is successful, it will be a condition of any job offer that you provide evidence of your right to work in the UK and satisfactory references.
