Field Engineer

Manchester (with Northern England regional coverage)

Your role

In this exciting customer-facing role of Field Engineer, you’ll focus on the delivery of M247s field service across the UK, including site surveys, installations, de-installations, preventive planned maintenance, fault analysis, repairs and upgrades, whilst providing high levels of customer satisfaction and ensuring a professional service with effective, efficient and safe work practices.

As the ideal candidate, you’ll be applying from a similar Field engineer background, where you’re accustomed to working independently, whilst part of a wider team, to deliver a brilliant service whilst being familiar with the challenges and intricacies of working with wireless radio equipment and routers - making this a key role within in M247’s Customer Operations team.

What you’ll do:

  • You’ll deliver M247 services in a timely and cost-efficient way, in accordance with agreed customer specifications, design requirements, Health & Safety and quality standards.

  • You’ll provide a high-quality onsite service to achieve high customer satisfaction whilst meeting the organisation’s Revenue and KPI targets, whilst collaborating with Customer Delivery, Customer Support and Infrastructure teams.

  • You’ll carry out surveys, installations, maintenance and the commissioning of network installations, as well as risk assessments and method statements for Field Engineers, customers and landlords, whilst adhering to quality, documentation and reporting standards.

  • You’ll support colleagues and customers with technical information, right first time (RFT) reason codes and photographs, backed up by detailed and accurate system updates.

  • You’ll be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of yourself, colleagues and the general public, as well as maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping.

  • You’ll take personal responsibility for company tools, vehicles, equipment, training records, vehicle licence, vehicle checks, inventory management of van stock, PPE inspections and other reasonable requests by M247.

Requirements


Your skills and experience

Should have

  • Proven as a customer-centric Field Engineer in a comparable role.

  • Working nationally, with a UK driving license.

  • Self-motivated, proactive and positive approach, with high levels of attention to detail.

  • Accustom to working on an on-call rota and ensuring customer SLAs are met.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external teams and customers.

  • Competent in the use of smartphones, Office 365 and other systems.

  • Health & Safety conscious, including at height and with electric cabling.

Nice to have (training will be provided, where required)

  • Cable routing and cable termination.

  • IPAF, ECS and PASMA.

  • Roof working and fixed ladder access and rescue.

  • Asbestos and RF awareness, basic first aid.

  • Electrical competence.

  • Hilti fire stop training.
