Database Administrator


Manchester (with hybrid working)

Your role

In this exciting Database Administrator role here at M247, you’ll collaborate with our BI team and jointly own our data strategy, whilst being highly proactive and capable of understanding data and structures. You’ll ultimately be responsible for the maintenance and administration of our data warehouse in parallel to owning the strategy of evolution, to give our business a competitive edge.


As the ideal candidate, you’ll be an experienced Database Administrator with a passion for data and data-driven decisions, whilst being self-motivated, proactive and enjoys influencing business change, we want to hear from you. What you’ll do:


  • You’ll be responsible for the day to day operations of our data warehouse and the outlining strategy of the platform over the next 2-3 years, whilst evolving systems to next-generation decision intelligence and cloud-based SQL systems.
  • You’ll collaborate with our BI team and be a subject matter expert across SQL, Cloud, OnPrem and traditional, evangelise data systems and services, and demonstrate your hunger to learn and upskill others – all driven by your passion for data.
  • You’ll be accountable for the operational efficiency and uptime of the SQL Data Warehouse.
  • You’ll collaborate with the Head of Business Systems to influence transformational change in the organisation.

Requirements


Your skills and experience

  • Proven in a comparable Database Administrator role.
  • Deep knowledge of MS SQL and the installation and configuration of SQL servers.
  • Power BI.
  • Support of SSAS/SSIS/SSRS.
  • Management of database access and security, with the ability to update, back up and recover databases.
  • Database programming, design, tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in integration with 3rd party software.
  • End-to-end diagnosis of software issues and resolution of incidents.
  • Understanding of competitive cloud-based SQL technology.
