Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE

Position

The role

We are building and expanding our leading cloud centre of excellence and are looking for multi-disciplined, security focused cloud engineers to help shape the future of our Manchester based Advanced Services business.


You will own the full customer life cycle from cradle to grave, on boarding, in life management and development. You will work closely with M247 product and sales teams to land new services and evangelise into our customer.


At M247 you will be working with the latest technologies that provides a continuous learning and development opportunity for the right person to contribute to the design and delivery of our secure and robust hybrid cloud solutions. The individual will join us on our strategic journey of customer digital transformation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring, incident response, answering service requests, and delivering the execution of changes.
  • Onboarding New Customers and ongoing support of existing customer base.
  • Capacity Planning, In life management of solutions and forward planning of scheduled works.
  • Proactive Event management and response.
  • Take ownership of incoming actions and issues and drive them to satisfactory resolution.
  • Work within a multi-skilled Cloud Operations team, consulting with other team members to achieve success.
  • Identifying risks and improvement opportunities for out our customers.
  • Proactively and continuously improve the service through driving further automation by scripting repeatable tasks, improving monitoring metrics to detect incidents before they occur.
  • Execute service requests logged by customers within the scope of services.
  • Low level design and execution of complicated cloud migration projects, UAT, TEST, DEV, POC to live in life management.
  • Being a trusted partner and advisor to our customers.

Requirements

Key technical skills needed:

  • Experience with managing and deploying Public, Private & Multi Cloud Services in Azure, AWS, or VMware.
  • VMware & Network Virtualization.
  • Working knowledge/experience of Virtualization Hypervisors – VMware, etc
  • Working Knowledge/experience of IT resilience products such as Cohesity and Zerto.
  • Experience in managing & securing virtualized environments up to and including OS (Windows/Linux)
  • Awareness of Cloud Native Technologies & best practices, Azure Well Architected Framework & cloud migration strategies.
  • Knowledge/working experience in defining and refining cloud automation, cost optimisation & licence management processes.
  • Experience in applying Cloud security and IT Governance best practice using the relevant tools and services to achieve it.
  • Working knowledge of ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, PCI/DSS or equivalent requirements
  • Experience in public & private cloud networking (Express route, ASGs, NSGs, Azure Frontdoor & Cisco/NSX)
  • Extensive experience in a support or Information Technology role with hands on cloud experience.
  • Current industry certifications such as VCP/AZ-104/M365 exams

Desirable but not essential skills & experience

  • MSP background
  • Azure DevOps, Datalake, Data Factory or Kubernetes
  • IAC (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell scripting)
  • VDI environments (Azure AVD, CVADS, FSLogix, Ivanti)
  • Nutanix /SAN/Vsan
  • AWS/GCP certifications
  • Fortigate (firewall & ZTNA, endpoint security products)
