Position

Job title:   IT Helpdesk Engineer            

Location:  Gibraltar        

Department: IT             

Reporting to: Head of IT

Role Summary:

Reporting to the Head of IT you will excel in customer support, providing first and second line IT support for our internal user base.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional, courteous, prompt and accurate solution to end users technical problems
  • Keep accurate records using internal management systems and procedures
  • Install and maintain both Mac and Windows workstations, printers and peripherals.
  • Set up new user accounts in various internal systems using GUI tools and scripts
  • Manage and prioritise tickets within the helpdesk software JIRA
  • Monitor servers and systems via support tools

 

Additional responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain end user documentation using Confluence
  • Liaise with suppliers when necessary order and maintain stock levels for consumables

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Desktop support role
  • Knowledge and understanding of Windows 10, Mac OSX & Office 365
  • Experience working in an IT corporate environment
  • Experience of laptop hardware break-fix (preferably on Lenovo and Apple hardware)
  • Excellent customer facing skills
  • Must be able to articulate advice and technical resolutions to people with differing technical knowledge
  • Great time management and organizational skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Supporting various business software

 

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Deployment of server, network and storage hardware, software builds, server installations, migration activities, administration
  • Networking experience including switch and router configuration
  • Linux and Windows server experience of installing and troubleshooting

 

Education/Qualifications – Essential/ Desirable

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience previous IT helpdesk skills are essential
