Position

We are looking for an experienced person to join our Legal, Compliance and Risk team based in Wolverhampton. The successful candidate will report to Chief Officer for Legal, Risk and Compliance.

The Senior Compliance Manager will have responsibility to ensure the effective and efficient workings of all aspects of compliance function, including its regualtory obligations. This senior position will lead, manage and direct a compliance team in the delivery of excellent service to internal and external stakeholders and clients. The role takes responsibility for influecing and shaping the Compliance Framework, working closely with the Chair of te Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and liasion with regulators, specifcally the FCA.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant investment industry or compliance related qualification as well as knowledge and experience in the financial industry. You will be expected to continuously update your learning and knowledge in post.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Competence

  • Experience in a compliance role, from working in an FCA authorised investment management firm
  • Practical knowledge of FCA COBS, SM&CR and AIFMD
  • Experience of developing and implementing compliance frameworks
  • Ability to monitor and assess achievements against performance targets, quality standards and service agreements that align with LGPSC
  • Ability to assess and interpret compliance risk and devise solutions to mitigate
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with advanced skills related to the preparation and submission of regulatory, statutory and compliance reports
  • Good business knowledge and understanding and use of technology, complying with and applying appropriate risk management methodologies
  • Effective management skills – making decisions, implementing and managing the compliance unit
  • Proven ability to foster a culture which has at its core a robust compliance controls framework and client focus
  • Promotion of a knowledge and positive-performance culture.
  • With energy, drive and a positive can-do attitude
  • Ability and confidence to draw out and effectively manage conflict/challenge
