Position

We are now hiring for the role of a Responsible Investment Analyst to join the Responsible Investment and Engagement Team. This offers an opportunity to be part of an organisation where you will not only have the prospects to develop your investment skills but also be actively will be introduced to all aspects of LGPS Central, including internal & external portfolio management, compliance, legal, operations, finance, and client relations.

Based in Wolverhampton, the talented and motivated RI Analyst will be a valuable addition to LGPS Central’s Investment Team. Working in an RI-integrated investment function, the RI Analyst will help to deliver the RI&E Framework, including delivery of Climate Risk Reports.

The role will involve communications across internal investment desks and with clients. The role will require analysis of quantitative and qualitative information to produce genuinely insightful ESG and climate risk reports that support investment risk management and decision-making.

Outside the primary remit of the role described above, the successful candidate will be introduced to all aspects of LGPS Central, including internal & external portfolio management, compliance, legal, operations, finance, and client relations.

Requirements

Experiences & Attributes:

  • Demonstrable interest in ESG/ responsible investment, achieved through academic study or work experience
  • A desire to further understand the interaction between ESG (including climate change) and investment outcomes
  • Detailed understanding climate-related risk including carbon risk metrics
  • Writing and Presenting reports pertaining to a broad range of sustainability/ESG related matters
  • Excellent communication, including to internal & external stakeholders
  • Motivated by the prospect of assisting long-term investors to manage climate change risks
  • Analytical skills; quantitative and qualitative
  • Well-organised

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree
  • Post Graduate qualification in a related subject an advantage
  • A-Level mathematics, economics, statistics, business studies an advantage
  • Willing to study for Investment Management Certificate
  • Willing to study for CFA ESG Certificate.
  • Intermediate/ Advanced understanding of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and working knowledge of Bloomberg an advantage – training will be provided
